SUWON XR BUS MEDIA ART

Iconic Movement created digital art content in the XR Bus, which is a popular tour attraction in Suwon. “King Jeongjo’s Royal Parade: 8 Days of Records” is a recreation of a historical event that happened during the Joseon Dynasty.

The content is divided into five parts expressing the history and culture of the Joseon Dynasty with modern perspectives and 3D technology. Visitors can enjoy only the content with the transparent OLED screen installed on the XR bus or enjoy outdoor background and the content at the same time.

INTENTION

The work uses natural objects to create a calm and static feeling. Taking Korea's traditional five cardinal colors into the project, it provides visitors with an unforgettable visual experience.

A variety of visual expressions were used to heighten the tension from the beginning of the journey to the moment of entering Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, the final destination. Although each scene has an independent meaning, it is created as a unified flow that is connected according to the overall sequence of events.

TYPOGRAPHY

Korean traditional calligraphy is featured on each section. 

The long and  flowing letters emphasize the beauty of Korean alphabet, Hangul. 

SOUND

The sound was produced to match with the video using traditional Korean music, Gukak. It features magnificent percussion and brass instruments to represent the parade with King Jeongjo's.
